When learning how to social dance as an adult it can become very tricky to figure out just where to use it. If you are a couple learning together, the living room is always a great place to dance! Throw on some music and jam out together!
If you are a single person who has always wanted to learn how to dance, but can’t find a partner…well, it gets harder to know where to go or how to apply it.
First of all, Denver has an AMAZING dance scene!!! Places like the Denver Turnverein and the Mercury Cafe have been staples in the Denver dance scene for DECADES and have been hosting weekly dances for all ages and levels for a really long time. Dance halls like these will feature specific dance classes and dance events throughout the week and monthly gatherings for every skill level and dance style.
In the south Denver area, Destiny Dance Studio hosts one of the only weekly Saturday Night Dance events open to the public, and we can guarantee you will have a great time!
In general, as a single person your biggest worry is “will I have anyone to dance with?”. The answer is Yes and No. If you show up and stick to yourself you might not become acquainted with the people in the room who are also single and looking for partners so GET OUT THERE and CHAT!! Meeting people at a dance hall is what SOCIAL dancing is all about. You already share a common interest…DANCING…and can build conversation from there. Then you exchange numbers, plan to go out to dances as a group, and there you go! You are now a part of a dance family that goes with you to dance halls and events all over the city. Couples can consider themselves included too!
